The border finally
Finally we arrived at the customs. We were immediately surrounded by street merchants offering money exchange or the guidance throug the intricacies of the customs offices. With his sixth sense Thomas picked a friendly guy and he was of a great help. Within an hour we were done with the formalities. The bigger problem was again to find a way through the labyrinth of parked and moving trucks. There was a bridge to pass. Thomas walked away with our new friend for some paperwork. A small boy helped me to drive to the bridge, barely two lanes wide. Then the real mess started. A lorry driver didn't reflect properly the consequences of his acts... and completely messed up the already poor flow of vehicles over the bridge. The left lane was used by parked trucks. And on the right side stood two trucks head to head, each one with dozens of trucks bumper to bumper lined up behind. And in the middle of the bridge: me in our small LandCruiser. After some time a custom official came to sort out the situation. He did chose our red car to pave the way, in which process I nearly got bumped in by an angry driver... It definitely was great fun.
